ARTIST CALL OUT and EOI

An exhibition for local artists residing within 100km of Shepparton, Victoria.

 

2023 Locals in the Limelight is looking for any artistic interpretation of the theme “Mending Our Ways”

 

Submissions Open January 21st and Close February 25th 4pm 2023

 

Opportunity for visual artists and sculptors to come together in an exciting Autumn exhibition within the spectacular garden setting of Milestone Café and Riverside Garden Complex, Emerald bank, Kialla.

  • Venue  - Milestone Cafe and surrounding gardens, Emerald Bank, Kialla.

  • When   - March 15th to May 3rd 2023

  • Theme - Artists are asked to respond to the title of “Mending our Ways”

  • Promoted through local media, social media and direct contact via an opening night.

  •  It is envisaged that most works will be made available for sale.

  • Artists will not be charged a sales Commission however there will be a small fee per item to cover administration and promotion.

Locals in the Limelight “Mending Our Ways Exhibition"

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Entries for consideration for hanging or display will be accepted from Monday March12th between 2.00 and 4.00pm OR by prior arrangement.

Only entries made by email to amanda@jaanda.com.au will be considered.

Successful artists will be notified by email by March 1st 2023.

By submitting your works via email, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions.

Artists will not be charged a sales Commission however there will be a small entry fee per artist to cover administration and promotion.

 

Each accepted artist will be charged non-refundable exhibiting fee on the following scale:

The following entry fee will be used to cover the following costs.

A5 and A4 up to 4 pieces                                $25

A3 up to 3 pieces                                             $25

A2 up to 2 pieces                                             $25

A1 and A0 up to 1 piece                                  $25

The exhibition fee will be used to help cover the following expenses.

  • Promotion and media exposure

  • Opening night - finger food, soft beverages (alcohol at bar prices)

  • Printing of invitations and flyers

Upon acceptance, the non-refundable fee will apply, per accepted artist.

Please send an image of your artwork with your entry submission.

Artists whose works are accepted for hanging or display will be notified  by email by March 1st 2023

Accepted paintings must be suitable for hanging, correctly marked and labelled on the back with the artists name, telephone number, email address, title of the piece and date executed, and be ready for hanging with strong wire (flush not protruding). Hanging wire to be a minimum of 50mm (small frames) or 100mm (large frames).

If the above hanging conditions are not met, paintings may not be able to be exhibited. If you need help please let us know.

All sculptures and 3D work must be suitable to be exhibited in a garden setting and be weatherproof.

All works must be stable, firmly based and capable of being lifted and positioned by a maximum of 4 persons. Small sculptures should be secured to a weatherproof stand.

The organising committee reserves the right to decline works for exhibition if they are deemed unsuitable, unstable, dangerous, offensive, delivered late, or otherwise do not comply with the conditions of entry.

If the artwork that has been submitted has been sold by the Artist prior to acceptance a substitute may be submitted in its place. No penalty or additional fee will apply.

The decisions of the committee and the judges are final and correspondence will not be entered into.

Sale of Artworks

Artists will be contacted directly by potential buyers via the artists information posted directly beside the piece.

The Artist is responsible for all sales and will deal directly with the purchaser.

The Artist is responsible for issuing a Tax invoice, or invoice or Statement of Supply as required by purchaser.

Photography

The Organisers shall have the right to photograph paintings and publish those photographs for publicity purposes.

Delivery and Collection

Delivery of all artworks are the responsibility of the artists. Monday

All accepted 3D artwork must be delivered to Emerald Bank by appointment only.

Unsold Artwork may be collected from Milestone Café between 2pm and 3pm during the week following the close of the exhibition or by prior arrangements.

The Organisers will not meet delivery costs on return of any artwork.

The Organisers will exercise all reasonable care in handling the paintings accepted, but will not be responsible for the loss of or any damage to any works while in the custody of the Organisers.

Insurance against damage, fire and theft on individual works whilst in the Organiser's custody or in transit is the Artist’s responsibility.

Displaying Artworks

The Organisers will display all accepted entries at the Milestone Café and surrounding gardens.

The exhibition will be available for viewing from 8.30am to 3pm daily except public holidays.

The Organisers reserve the right to withdraw any work at any time from the Exhibition.
